P-NET Gateway Service, large installations
In the datasheet for the P-NET Gateway Service, the service is described when configured for up to a maximum of 124 connections points for PD 664 or PD 3950 devices. When there is a need to connect a larger number of remote stations each having a PD 664 installed, this can be achieved by adding additional internal nets. According to the P-NET standard, it is possible to have up to 125 nodes on each P-NET segment. The P-NET Gateway service supports up to 124 internal nets, each having up to 124 connections points for PD 664 GPRS Interface modules, as illustrated in the example figure below. Using this technique, the P-NET Gateway service can be configured to have a maximum of 15376 ports.
