PROCES-DATA has now launched VIGO 5.9 - the latest version of the Fieldbus Management System, which enables standard and specific Windows applications to be linked to fieldbus variables (process values, status of an input, etc.), using OLE technology.

New in VIGO

VIGO now supports Windows 7 (x32/x64).

OLE Automation Interface

  • VIGO.PRO, MaxRetries property now available.

New in Visual VIGO

VisualVIGO.exe

  • Visual VIGO has been upgraded to version 1.1.

The following components have been added to the

Demo Component Box.

ComplexDataGrid:

  • The Complex Data Grid component is used to display the data contained in a single record or from an array of records, in the form of a versatile structured table.

The component also allows the editing of the contents of selected fields within an individual record.

The Complex Data Grid component has been updated with a number of new features.

Multi-language:

  • Visual VIGO provides multi-language support. In design mode a new pull-down menu “Language” is available.

PDLogsys:

  • Visual VIGO supports User Access Control and Event Logging. Using the PDLogsys system makes it possible to limit and control some of the components’ functionality via login and user roles. The same components are able to log user actions as events. The PDLogsys system is included in the VIGO 5.9 installation suite, but to be operational it requires that a user database is installed. Components supporting restriction and log facilities have a “Restrict User Access” element displayed in the component tree. In the Demo Component box a new tab named “Restricted Components” is available, and it contains the components that can be used together with the new login component (TPDUserAccess).

GDI+:

  • GDI+ (Windows Graphics Device Interface)

All components in Visual VIGO that can display an image, e.g. TPDImage, are now able to render the lines on scalable graphic objects. This type of rendering is called antialiasing and results in a line that the human eye perceives as more smooth. The supported file formats are WMF (Windows Meta File) and EMF Enhanced Meta File), and both file formats are vectorgraphic formats. Vector graphic files store the lines, shapes and colours that make up an image as mathematical formulae. A vector graphic program uses these mathematical formulae to construct the screen image, building the best quality image possible, given the screen resolution. If Visual VIGO version 1.1 or higher is able to locate the GDI+ system (provided from Windows Vista and Office 2003), it will use antialiasing to render the graphic objects. The effect of antialiasing is easiest to see on the screen if the image isn’t displayed in the original image size.
