PD 981 KeyLED (OEM)

 

General Information

The PD 981 is a P‑NET slave module, which has been designed for use by original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems builders. The module is an ope­rator input and LED module. Other P-NET devices, such as Controllers, Distributed Pro­cess Intelligence modules (DPIs), and PCs can control the LEDs within the module and read any inputs from the keyboard.

 

A custom designed front panel mounted keyboard, with windows through which the LEDs can be seen, is connected to the module.

The PD 981 module is mounted on the rear of the control cabinet or box front panel.

 

The design makes it highly suitable as a means for local operator intervention in machine, process control or mobile applications.

LEDs

The module contains up to 32 LEDs that can be individually controlled.

Each LED can be turned on/off or can be set to operate in a variable duty-cycle mode.

This OEM module type provides the OEM system builder with the opportunity to specify the location of each LED on the PCB. The layout of the PCB and the keyboard is normally designed at the same time by PROCES-DATA to einsure a 100% match.

Keyboard

The PD 981 contains a connector for a 28 key custom designed keyboard.

Key functions depend entirely upon the type of application, and may be defined by the user program running in a controller, DPI or PC.

 

Communication Interface

The PD 981 is equipped with a P-NET interface, enabling connection to the electrical RS485 P-NET.
